I am continuing to work full time towards concurrent exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne opening in May 2012. These will be at Charles Hewitt Gallery in Sydney opening Thurs 3rd May 6 – 8 pm and Catherine Asquith Gallery in Melbourne opening May 5th from 2 – 4 pm. Both these exhibitions will remain on view until May 19th.

For these works I have drawn inspiration from a recent road trip through southern NSW and western Victoria where I visited farms and towns in the areas and much of the new work has it’s origins in my observations of the farm landscapes of these areas.

I was impressed by a survey exhibition of William Delafield Cook paintings shown at Tarra Warra Museum of Art near Healsville Victoria, where an opening of new works by Sam Leach occurred on the day I was there. Both of these shows were influential on the approach to my current art practice.

I am continuing to work full time on painting after two successful exhibitions at Charles Hewitt Gallery in 2010 and 2011. Colour catalogues of the works in these shows are available from the gallery or my studio in St Peters. You are welcome to preview my new body of work at May Street Studios.

After visiting the National Gallery Infinite Horizons Fred Williams survey exhibition, I am inspired to work even harder to define a unique depiction of the Australian landscape.

I'm working on a new series called Regions to be shown in Sydney and Melbourne during May next year.
